I know the jpop fanbase is small on here but the silence on the assault on a Japanese idol by 2 men is so worrying. Hating idol culture doesn’t mean you should ignore serious issues like this. If we don’t get this more attention Japanese media will literally ignore it because the group’s management is already making this girl apologize for HERSELF being assaulted in front of the men who assaulted HER. It’s disgusting and it shouldn’t go unnoticed.
More about this, the assault took place on December 8th, management tried to sweep it under the rug but Maho decided to say something about what happened a few days ago. Another member of her group leaked her address to the men and management (AS WELL AS THE JAPANESE POLICE) are trying to dismiss that as well. The police let the men off with no charge so far, as they said they were only trying to talk to her, and members and fans suspect the two men were in the front row of the crowd in their latest live performance. The entire situation is disgusting, and right now it feels like the only way to get her management and the law to handle this correctly is to popularize it.
